Nowadays, a growing number of people with health problems are trying alternative medicines and treatments instead of visiting their usual doctor. Do you think this is a positive or a negative development?

, there is a trend these days to seek advice from non-medical persons to cure the illness rather than following the doctor's prescription.

 is not a good development as it can cause more harm than good.

, there are many reasons

 rely more on alternative medicines. So, he can't afford

 a costly regimen and he resorts to other ways of healing. There are many side effects of allopathic drugs. There is a long list of adverse effects written on the pamphlets accompanying the leaflets of drugs. Most health professionals have a very busy schedule.

 makes it hard for the sick persons to get an appointment.

, very few specialists give ample time for counselling of the diseased persons which causes an increased rate of non-compliance. All these factors support the idea of looking towards hakims for non-allopathic ways of cure.

, the price of an injection of chemotherapy is more than one lac rupees in our country
