Training

The Center for Conflict, Law and the Media oversees a broad array of new curricular programs designed to teach journalists about the law and the legal system, as well as provide opportunities for law students to better understand the media. This kind of interdisciplinary learning will deepen the sophistication of tomorrow's journalists as they realize the impact of their journalism on social and political conflicts.

Dual Degree Programs

We offer four opportunities to earn law and graduate journalism degrees at the same time, generally saving students money and time while significantly enhancing their employment opportunities and competitiveness: JD-MA, JD-PhD, LLM-MA, LLM-PhD.

Certificates in Journalism for Law Students

We offer law students the opportunity to earn certificates in Legal Affairs Reporting or in Strategic Communications by taking courses at the School of Journalism.

Advanced Degree Specialties in Law and Conflict Resolution for Journalism Graduate Students

Journalism Masters and Doctoral students can earn special qualifications by taking courses at the Law School pursuant to a Masters Model or a Ph.D. Minor in Law and Conflict Resolution.

Undergraduate/Graduate J-Law Courses at the Journalism School

Three new courses have offered students opportunities to explore the intersection of conflict, law, and the media:

Activities and Role Plays

Joint classes and activities between the law and journalism students allow both groups to learn from each other's discipline, and gain valuable practical experience that can be applied in the real world.
